Enhance Your Home Decor with the Latest Floor to Ceiling Curtain Trend

When it comes to home decor, curtains are often an afterthought. But the latest trends in interior design are helping in changing that.

The full height, floor to ceiling curtain trend that we here at Unidrape have always been huge fans of, is taking the design world by storm, and for good reason. Not only does it add a touch of elegance and drama to any room, but it also has practical benefits. In this article, we’ll explore the floor to ceiling curtain trend and give you some curtain hacks to elevate your home decor.

What are Floor to Ceiling Curtains?

Floor to Ceiling curtains, also known as full height curtains or drapes, are curtains that are hung from the ceiling instead of from a traditional curtain pole. This creates a dramatic effect, as the curtains flow from the ceiling to the floor, bringing a sense of elevated height and grandeur in the room. They can be used in any room of the house, from the bedroom to the living room, and can be made from a variety of fabrics to suit your style.

Curtain Hacks for the Ceiling Mounted Curtain Trend

Use Different Headings

One of our favourite curtain headings for a full height, floor to ceiling design, is the Silent Gliss Wave. Available with a 60mm Wave heading for areas that require a shallow stack depth, or and 80mm Wave heading which reduces the stack width, this modern, uniform heading works brilliantly with both light voile fabrics and lined curtains. We use a softer, more flexible blackout lining fabric with Wave curtains, to ensure curtains drape naturally into soft undulating folds.

For soft, romantic style, use a pencil pleat heading on a textured or whispy voile fabric. As well as adding the illusion of height to a room, a pencil pleat in a lightweight fabric softens hard corners as well as filtering the light and providing privacy.

Divide a Room

Ceiling curtains can also be used to divide a room, creating separate spaces without the need for walls. This is especially useful in studio apartments or open-concept living spaces. You can use ceiling mounted curtains to create a bedroom area, a home office, or even a dressing room.

Hide Unsightly Areas

Do you have an unsightly area in your home that you want to hide? Floor to Ceiling curtains can come to the rescue. Whether it’s a cluttered closet or a storage area, hanging full height curtains can create a stylish and functional way to conceal these areas.

Why You Should Try the Floor to Ceiling Curtain Trend

Aside from the aesthetic benefits, there are practical reasons to try the floor to ceiling curtain trend. Ceiling curtains can help to insulate a room, keeping it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. They can also help to block out light much more effectively than a traditional curtain hung on a pole, making them a great option for bedrooms or home theatres.

So why not give the floor to ceiling curtain trend a try? With these curtain hacks, you can elevate your home decor and add a touch of elegance to any room. Visit our Welwyn Garden City showroom for more advice and to check out the great range of fabrics that work best with these types of curtain.
