Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home decor and bring in some bright, cheerful colours that will lift your spirits and add a touch of warmth to your space. If you’re looking for some inspiration, here are our top five Spring Interior Decor Colours for spring home décor and tips for using them:

Olive Green

Olive green is both sophisticated and refreshing, making it our first springtime colour. It’s a fresh and natural colour that works well in any room, from the living room to the bedroom. Olive green pairs well with pastels such as pink and peach, and looks great with white or cream accents. We love using Earthborn Sunday Stroll Claypaint in this type of scheme!

Coral

Coral is a warm and inviting colour that we think complements those lengthening days just perfectly. It’s bright, cheery and adds a pop of colour to any room. Coral looks great paired with electric blues for a contrasting scheme inspired by nature, or as a single pop of colour against a white scheme. Dakota Velvet fabric in Coral, by Ashley Wilde, works great for cushions, curtains or roman blinds.

Sky Blue

Sky blue is a classic shade that’s perfect for spring. It’s a light and calming colour that works well in bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Sky blue looks great with white or grey accents and pairs well with other pastel shades. Earthborn Lifestyle paint in Gingham pictured here, washable and perfect for kitchen walls.

Peach

Peach is a soft and gentle colour that adds a touch of warmth to any room. Peach looks great paired with sage or olive green, as well as with navy accents.  This inviting shade gets us excited for those lazy spring afternoons at home.

Claypaint in Peach Baby, a light warm neutral with a soft peach undertone

Mink

Step away from grey and warm up a neutral palette.  Mink looks great in tactile fabrics, paired with natural wall colours, warm metal accents, and plants or flowers. Here we’ve used Porter & Stone’s Lux Boucle in Mink on the curtain, and Dakota Velvet in Putty on the chair throw.

Part 2 of the series has arrived….A few weeks back we had the pleasure of popping along to the Houzz of 2018, pop-up event in Greek Street, Soho. Houzz of 2018, featured a 5-storey townhouse – showcasing the latest innovative products and inspiring trends coming to the world of interior design this year. Split across 5 floors were 5 different rooms; Living Room, Kitchen, Master Bedroom, Bathroom and Children’s Bedroom. Our series of blogs will capture each room; Part 2 will focus on the designs, products and suppliers used for the Living & Dining Room area!

Moving on to, the Living Room…

The first room of the property to enter was the Living Room; catching your attention immediately is the 1970’s vibe, Fox Orange sofa by Red Edition France. This soft, warm and burnt orange colour, in a plush velvety texture is heavily contrasted by the backdrop of the wall-covering’s matte dark inky blue paint (colour; Cobalt Blue, by Dulux Trade). Automatically this room has modernised retro interiors, to create a cosy but contemporary space. Enhancing light and maximising perceptions of space were the antique crackled metals mirrors, positioned diagonally on the wall and these were perfectly paired with a large floor plant by Patch (in a funky large, woven mono ceramic pot). Additional accessories and finishing touches such as these enabled the darkness of the room to feel relaxing but also created a refreshing and natural ambience, simultaneously.

In addition, the White marbled coffee table perfectly paired up with the stunning White bone china, Cranton Hexagonal Pendant light (by Original BTC); with both materials introducing areas of large White space and hence providing further layers of contrasts and brightness. The key harmonisation of this colour palette was the complimentary (opposite) painted wall, in a very light and muted sage green (colour; Riverbed by Dulux Trade), placed on the back Living Room wall, against a natural wooden dining table (creating a ‘separate’ Dining Room space as such).

Dining Room

NUTSANDWOOD’s solid oak dining table was the ideal teammate alongside the Riverbed painted wall; adding a more natural and botanical essence to the room (complimented by the Living area’s potted plants, by Patch). To accessorise this Dining Room, bold and abstract art prints (by East End prints) were positioned on the back wall by the table, accompanied by a centre piece of soft ceramics and earthy oak candelabras (by Spring Copenhagen ApS); to ensure seamless coordination throughout this entire communal area.

We loved how adventurous and brave this stunning Living/Dining area scheme was and how it efficiently ticks all the boxes for the atmospheres of a family home, whilst remaining in-keeping with London’s current interior design trends.  If you are in need of Interior Design services head over to our Contact page & get in touch to see how we can help make your house, your home. A few weeks back we had the pleasure of popping along to the Houzz of 2018, pop-up event in Greek Street, Soho. Our series of blogs will capture each room; Part 1 will focus on the designs, products and suppliers used for the Kitchen!

Firstly, the Kitchen…

This room was cleverly designed to integrate both function and aesthetic; this design really maximises small spaces to their full potential, to make a family home Kitchen practical yet stylish. Multiple ideabooks on Houzz currently feature dark Greens, Greys and Blues colour schemes for Kitchens. So, it was no surprise to see the Kitchen composed of Sherwood Charcoal kitchen shaker cabinets, finished with soft but modern Pewter metal handles and hardware (by Benchmarx Kitchen & Joinery). Coordinating with the woodwork were the integrated appliances, in sleek Black glass (such as the wine cooler and oven, by Miele).

Contrasting work tops in Apollo Ice White (by Benchmarx Kitchen & Joinery), made a bold statement whilst providing a fresh and bright accent to the area. Built into the breakfast bar area work top, showcased the 2-1 Induction Hob. The 2-1 Induction Hob (by Miele) combines two cooking ‘induction zones’ with an automatic extractor. This appliance effectively absorbs any vapours and odours from cooking in a family home but is also minimal, smooth and simplistic in appearance (from it’s modern composition of stainless steel and Black glass materials). Products such as this allow maximisation of space and inclusion of new cutting-edge technology; with attention being paid just as equally to the styling and appearance of a contemporary kitchen, thanks to the ever evolving access to vast new interior trends, products and design schemes!

Harmonising the striking monochromatic colour scheme is the Herringbone tiled splash back; the inclusion of the Misty Fjord tiles (by Topps Tiles) allows a softer and earthy component to be added to the composition, which co-ordinates fabulously with the open shelving above. Open shelving is a simple yet effective manner of not only storing kitchenware, but multi-purposely creating decorative display features.  Combining the trend of soft Pinks and Copper tones; the ceramics (by Hend Krichen) provided an alternative texture and colour to the Kitchen’s scheme – establishing the perfect ‘between’ of natural and modern elements, in a characterful property.

We really did love this Kitchen’s scheme and consider it to be not only stunning but realistically achievable in a variety of interior environments.
